Welcome Grade 10 Communication Technology students !!!!!! Sept 6-10
Sept 7- First Day of Classes Sept 9- I will be away. Please watch the video Shift Happens (click on this link) and write a reflections based on the following questions:
Answer one or two of the following questions (academically and a minimum of 300 words)
What are your initial reactions to what you saw in the presentation?
How are these changes manifesting themselves in your personal lives?
What skills do you think students need to survive and thrive in this new era?
What implications does this have for our current way of learning technology?
What challenges must we overcome as we move forward in the global world?
Who's scared? Why?
What will we do next? What are some concrete actions that we can take in the near future?
How important is it to teach technology in our school system?
Do you think you are being prepared to meet these future challenges, what skills are you going have to improve?
On this page there is a discussion tab. Please type your reflection here. If you wish you may type it in Word and cut and paste into the discussion page. This allows you access to spell check.
If there is time in class find more interesting facts like those presented in the video. This video is a couple of years old and outdated.
Homework:
By the end of next week you must also respond to at least one of you classroom's postings.You may post more often to express your opinions. All the postings must be related to this subject. If you have the need for other discussions, please start a new discussion group (please remember that I am the monitor for the discussion groups )
At the end of next week, I will freeze this discussion group. If you have not posted the alternate assignment is to write a one and a half page essay (12 pt double space)on this subject.
