Tuesday Nov 9- to review optomizing images go back to last friday
Adding backgrounds to individual cells-
Use the Tag Editor (will learn more about that latter on in Dreamweaver) Right-click the cell and then choosing Edit Tag <td>. The Tag Editor dialog box will appear. Select the Browser Specific category and then click the Browse button located just to the right of the Background Image text box. Find your image remember it may be modified in Adobe Photoshop. Click OK to close the Tag Editor. Now your image will be a background image.
Notes about text:
type away, or copy and paste from a word document
hitting return goes to the next line with a space; hitting return and shift just goes to the next line (no space)
Formatting text
click on CSS button on the left (cascading style sheets)Then go over to the font option
use the font family, or you can create your own but make sure it ends with serif or sans serif
new CSS rule opens up for now go with whatever dreamweaver selects for the contextual selector type
chose a name for your text- fancytext, captiontrext, amortext, body text etc.(no spaces or special characters)
For now just save it for this document only
Notice you tag now appears in the targeted rule (and it has a dot in front- more about that latter
Rollovers:
go to insert- rollover image
give it a name- no spaces or special characters
browse for the original image and the rollover image
you can also make it into a link to another page- these can be made into buttons (try two similiar gradients or just subtly change the colour of the graphics or text and add a link)
