Go to image>image size. With the resample box checked- change the resolution to 72ppi and then go to the dimensions and make it to fit the size you have reserved on your website
If you have to crop it you can set the crop to a resoultion of 72 ppi and the pixel size to fit.
You may want to go to filter sharpen, using the unsharp mask to sharpen it up a bit
Save for web (.jpg for pics; .gif if you need to save a transparency ) to compress the graphics)
On CS4 it looks like this if you click on the 4 up tab. Compare the 4 screens and choose the one with the smallest size that the image is still clear (so it will load faster)
Save to the image file inside your webpage file.
